INPHASE TECHNOLOGIES AND RORKE DATA ENTER INTO RESELLER AGREEMENT FOR HOLOGRAPHIC STORAGE SOLUTIONS
Rorke Data to Resell InPhase Tapestry™ Holographic Archive Products for Broadcast/Media and Enterprise Customers
FOR RELEASE ON: MONDAY, APRIL 16, 2007
LAS VEGAS, NV – InPhase Technologies, the world’s leader in holographic data storage, and Rorke Data, a leading storage solutions provider that is a subsidiary of Bell Microproducts, Inc. (NASDAQ: BELM), today announced that the two companies have entered into a reseller agreement in which Rorke Data will resell InPhase’s Tapestry™ holographic drives and media to customers in the broadcast, digital media, healthcare, and corporate sectors.
The announcement was made today at the annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference in Las Vegas, where InPhase demonstrates its Tapestry product in the Maxell booth #C7736 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, through Thursday, April 19. Rorke will have the Tapestry product in their booth # SL3714 in the lower level of the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Under terms of the agreement, Rorke will sell the InPhase holographic storage products, and compatible optical libraries, to key accounts nationwide. InPhase will provide volume shipments of both the Tapestry300r drive, and holographic media, to Rorke in the 2nd half of 2007. Rorke will initially sell the InPhase solutions at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting in Providence, Rhode Island, June 7-10.
The Tapestry300r drive will store 300 gigabytes (GB) of information on a single 5 ¼-inch disc, at a transfer rate of 20 megabytes per second (MB/s), or 160 megabits per second (Mb/s), to deliver the highest-capacity optical storage solution on the market.
“We are very pleased to be working with InPhase; they have developed a key enabling technology for high-capacity storage which is highly prized by our broadcast and production customers,” said Joe Rorke, vice president of marketing for Rorke Data. “There is a huge level of interest in the holographic archival product from all of our customer segments, and we look forward to going to market with InPhase.”
“There are few companies in the storage industry that offer a range of solutions such as Rorke Data; we believe that this reseller agreement will enable a strong roll-out of our holographic storage products across a variety of channels,” said Art Rancis, vice president of InPhase. “Rorke’s expertise and brand recognition will enable us to transition customers to the next generation of optical archival storage.”
