Midrange

Sun's midrange family of servers provide enterprise-class performance and availability for mission-critical applications. You can choose from our two lines of UltraSPARC IV- or UltraSPARC III-based midrange systems to meet your application workload requirements. The Sun Fire E2900, E4900, and E6900 servers are Sun's first midrange throughput computing systems powered by the chip multithreading technology of the UltraSPARC IV processor. These servers deliver up to twice the performance of our current UltraSPARC III-based Sun Fire V1280, 4800, and 6800 servers in the same footprint.
