HSM Software PartnersHSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) software automatically writes data to a secondary storage system such as tape or optical robotic system, also known as 2nd tier storage as soon as the data hits the primary RAID storage. This approach provides a minimum of two copies of data at all times unless your primary storage is full and the archive takes effect. Managed information life cycles are critical to manage the ever increasing volume of data. HSM can support multiple tiers of storage based on cost, performance and accessibility needs. HSM further manages migration between tiers is seamless to all users on the server. The file tree structure never changes and all data regardless of location is readily available to the user with only slight delay if the file is retrieved from the archive. |
