Sun Fire V65X Server
 The Sun Fire V65x server is an ideal solution for building out network-edge environments or compute farms, deploying expandable, small database servers, or implementing custom application deployments. Featuring up to two 2.8-GHz/3.2-GHz processors, up to 1-MB cache for each processor, up to 12 GB of memory, up to six 36-GB or 73-GB hard drives, and up to six PCI-X slots, the Sun Fire V65x server offers exceptional value, innovation, and choice. The x86-based Sun Fire V65x server provides cross-platform support for standard Linux distributions, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SuSE Enterprise Linux Server, or the Solaris Operating System, x86 Platform Edition.
All Sun Fire V65x servers come with the necessary drivers and supplementary documentation to enable the installation of standard Linux distributions. The system includes support for the Red Hat 7.3 operating system; other sets of drivers and documentation will be made available over time.
To simplify system deployment and reduce time to revenue, the Sun Customer Ready systems program allows the Sun Fire V65x server to be factory-integrated with customized options into racked, cabled, and ready-to-deploy systems. In addition, with the new Sun Control Station 2.0 management software, you get software and image management, Lights Out Mangement, basic health and performance monitoring to simplify your system administration tasks.
The Sun Fire V65x server has been certified as compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 with the installation of the latest updated drivers. The drivers are qualified on all Sun Fire V65x server configurations. Please see our download area for more information.
